Have a Dog Picnic

Here's how ...

Decorations

Here's a cute placecard idea from Jamie Kisler and Michelle Caballero, of Pawsitively Delicious, a gourmet dog treat and gift company in McKinney, Texas. It matches the picnic invitation.

Place Cards

If you're making invitations, send them out two weeks before the picnic date, to leave plenty of time for people to clear their schedules. Here's a great idea for a cute invitation you can make, from Jamie and Michelle:

MATERIALS

  • Heavy-duty paper in black, white and red check

  • Scissors, hole punch

  • Glue

  • 7/8" ribbon

INSTRUCTIONS

You can either hand-letter the names of the guests on the finished place cards or design them on your computer with clip-art before you cute the paper.

Cut a black rectangle measuring 5" x 4.25". Next cut a red check rectangle measuring 3.75" x 2.25". Last, cut a white rectangle measuring 3" x 1.25".

Fold the black rectangle in half vertically to make a tent. Glue the red check on the front of the tent. After the glue dries, glue the white rectangle onto the red check piece. Ensure a larger top margin to leave room for the bow.

Punch two holes in the top of the invitation. Thread the ribbon through and make a bow. Trim the ribbon.    Next
